About the Author
Paolo Brandimarte is Full Professor of Quantitative Methods for Finance and Logistics at Politecnico di Torino in Italy. He is the author of several publications, including six books, on the application of optimization and simulation to diverse areas such as production management, telecommunications, and finance. Dr. Brandimarte has extensive teaching experience in engineering and economics faculties, including master's- and PhD-level courses.
Giulio Zotteri, PhD, is Associate Professor in the School of Industrial Engineering at Politecnico di Torino in Italy. Dr. Zotteri's research interests include demand management and forecasting, inventory control, and operations management.

Good text for supply chain modeling and analysis

I occasionally found this book in the library and the content fits what I am learning in supply chain modeling & analyis course, which is not a management course but a quantitative-skill-emphasis course. I like the example the author provided, not only calculation but also with the management insights. If you are taking a quantitative supply chain course (normally offered in Industrial Engineering department rather than supply chain management department I guess) you can use this as a reference. It contains deterministic and stochastic EOQ, Risk pooling, Network models, location selection, forecasting and vehicle routing, these are essential quantitative analysis skill when studying supply chain. Not suitable for MBA students since it involved a lot of mathematics.
